What to expect

We are very exited to welcome you to West Grange. We appreciate it can be daunting going to a new place. Here are some things which we hope will make your visit as enjoyable as possible.

Every Sunday morning is different.

When you arrive grab a tea or coffee and find a seat in the main hall. People will be mingling and chatting and someone will welcome you to Church. Just before we start we will play a countdown video - this is the cue that we are about to start.

Family church 11am to 12noon - is led by various people who will be introducing the morning theme in various ways using quizzes, skits, video clips and music. We have a music group made up of piano, guitar and bass which leads any songs we sing, the words of which are projected onto a screen for you to follow.

Or main speaker will usually speak twice for 10-15min explaining and teaching the morning theme from the Bible and how we can apply it to our own lives.

Children

We have lots of children that we bus in from the local area.

There are currently two Sunday School classes that run at the same time as Family Church.

(1) ages 3 to 8

(2) ages 9 to 11

Any children over 12 years are encouraged to join Family Church in the main hall.

Evening Service 6:30pm to 7:30pm - our evening services are more ‘traditional’ in format. We have an extended time of sung Worship where we have opportunity to connect with God through the songs. Followed usually by 30min bible teaching from our main speaker.

Communion - In the evening of the 3rd Sunday in the month is our communion service. This is a very special time, when we remember the cost that Jesus paid for us to have our sins forgiven and have the relationship with almighty God restored. We eat bread symbolising Jesus’ body and drink grape juice, symbolising the blood that was shed when He was crucified. We also celebrate that he was resurrected and is alive forevermore and can be known today!

What to wear

Some people think you have to wear something special to come to Church or dress in a certain way. In the past this was common practice as people only had one special outfit and used that for Sundays or special occasions. However now adays most churches don’t have a dress code.

We believe Church is for everyone so come as you feel comfortable. The Bible says that God looks at the heart, not on outward appearance (1 Samuel 16:7). Our speakers will often wear a suit.

Where to park

If you are coming by car we suggest you park on “West Grange drive”.

West Grange Church is situated at the end of a cul de sac in West Grange Garth and we have neighbours, so please be me mindful and don’t block their driveways.

We have a small car park which fills up quickly so come early, however there is the possibility that you will be blocked in by other cars.
